On March 7, 2011, the NRTC announced that it would offer a wireless AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) system to its members from Sensus. See the announcement here. NRTC will act as a value-added reseller of the Sensus FlexNet long-range wireless system. System features include automated meter reading, real-time outage notification, distribution automation, home area networking, and integration with meter data management systems and consumer information systems.
