USDA Magazine Article Discusses Management of Capital Credits and Patronage Dividends

The USDA publishes a bi-monthly magazine, Rural Cooperatives, which covers various issues encountered by cooperatives of all types.  Recently the magazine published an article written by attorney David Cook concerning the proper management of capital credits and patronage dividends. 

The article addresses the risk factors involved with capital credits.  Cooperatives have faced increased risk, including class action lawsuits by members alleging improper management of capital credits.  The article also provides helpful tips for mitigating such risk.
